Starting a second world
Woot! New world!
Since the last post I’ve updated the Alice website, finished charts for Alice lesson plans, Concepts, and Teacher Counts, edited teacher’s letters, and started another Alice world for array bingos.
Update: fixed Alice concepts count and replaced all 10+ with 10. Added new columns/rows for total concept counts, averages, and number of features used under a new spreadsheet so there are two raws and two calculated sets so far. Working on lesson plans fixing old spreadsheets
After a big Monday getting back to Durham, I got back to making tallies and charts for Alice Concepts. I just made a new chart tallying teachers rather than teacher’s worlds, and am learning new formulas for Excel I didn’t know existed. Working is a little weird now that I’m the only one here however…
Today Peggy, Chitra, and I had lunch at the Blue Express and spent the afternoon tallying Alice worlds for teachers (me still catching up). Hoping Chitra enjoyed her stay at Durham and both Peggy and Chitra have a safe trip back home! :) :) :)
This morning, Professor Rodger, Peggy, Chitra, and I went to Gravely Hills Middle School to help a few teachers in a tech class learn to use Alice animations, then get lunch at a German bakery. It was nice seeing more of North Caronlina today. In the afternoon I went over four more teacher’s worlds. It’s a little late to start reviewing Alice 2.2 because I’m having a visitor over and I want to be back on time, but will look over it tomorrow morning then HOPEFULLY finish most/the rest of the teacher’s worlds.
Today I finished writing letters to the rest of the teachers and started round two of checking teacher’s worlds. This is going more quickly so I’m hoping it’ll get done soon!
I just re-did Chitra’s tutorial on LCD and finished writing comments. Will continue tallying teacher’s worlds come Monday!
Today I got through recording and writing letters for three more worlds. Hopefully this weekend will be a good time to catch up with other things like reviewing Chitra’s tutorial and finishing the tallies for another person or two. Otherwise, I’m pretty glad it’s Friday YAY.
